According to NBC News, a nightclub in Columbus, Ohio, was cited for breaching COVID-19 health orders after an estimated 500 people attended an indoor concert on Saturday night by R&B singer Trey Songz.

The Ohio Investigation Unit told the news outlet that club Aftermath received a citation for improper behavior and disorderly activities after customers were seen sharing alcoholic drinks and making little attempt to retain social distance. Also, to facilitate social distancing, the venue had no physical barriers in place, and most staff and employers did not wear masks, the statement continued.

Ohio’s Investigation Unit compliance commander Eric Wolf told WCMH affiliate of NBC News, “Basically, it was just a concert environment.” He added, “If you had taken that event and put it in 2019, it would have been pretty much the same concert, the same event that was taking place last night.”

The Investigating Unit advised NBC that the case was referred to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission, which is responsible for the imposition of penalties, including fines and the suspension or revocation of the venue’s license. As Trey Songz performed, photos and videos taken inside the club and shared on social media show a largely maskless crowd showing little respect for social distance.

Variety’s request for more clarification on the sanctions Aftermath could be facing was not immediately replied to by a commission spokesperson.

The management and label of Reps for Songz did not respond immediately to requests for comment from Variety. It seems to be that Songz played a show in Texas as well, according to the news section of his website, and then removed Instagram stories about it.

“Be safe and have fun,” Songz’s latest Instagram post from Friday reads.”
