37-year-old Joshua Kabatra was arrested for allegedly raping a 4-year-old girl in a McDonald’s restroom while on a field trip with her day care, according to Midwest City Police.
The child went to the bathroom in the play area, but after a while a day care worker noticed that the little girl had been gone for a long time, and went to check on her. As entering the restroom, the worker ran into Kabatra who unlocked and walked out of the bathroom, saying he was “just washing his hands,” according to what the day care worker told police.
The day care workers told police they asked the girl if Kabatra touched her, to which she answered “yes.” They then asked her where the man touched her, and the child pointed to her genital area. The workers then called police. Kabatra later told authorities he felt sick and knocked on the door before entering the restroom. He said he vomited in the bathroom while the child was on the toilet, washed his hands then left.
The victim was further interviewed at the daycare center, where she said Kabatra molested her and asked her to touch him. Kabatra was arrested on multiple complaints, including two counts of first-degree rape and one count of lewd acts with a child.
Midwest City police confirmed with KOCO 5 that Kabatra admitted to molesting the girl but so far, no formal charges have been filed.
McDonald’s issued an apology in a statement sent to the station that reads, “At McDonald’s, nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our customers. We are deeply disturbed by the incident that occurred at one of our Oklahoma restaurants earlier this week. We are fully cooperating with the police during their investigation.”
