Lil Nas X’s hit song “Old Town Road” has been No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 list longer than any Hip Hop song in history.

Lil Nas X is showing up and showing out in the hip hop game, as his hit single “Old Town Road” completed its 13th consecutive week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the only hip hop song to ever make that feat. He has now beaten out #BlackEyedPeas’ “Boom Boom Pow,” Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s “See You Again,” and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.”

The only other songs to have met such success are Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road” and Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine,” which both achieved 13 weeks at No. 1. The news comes just after the 20-year-old rapper came out to the world at the end of Pride Month on social media. “Some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more,” he wrote in a post that ended with a rainbow emoji. “But before this month ends I want y’all to listen closely to ‘C7osure.'” He added that he thought he “made it obvious.”

Fans were very welcoming of the announcement. Congrats Lil Nas X!
