Lil NasX’s “Old Town Road” has spent 17 weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts, making it the longest-running No. 1 song in U.S. chart history, according to a Billboard report.
The hit record “Old Town Road” which features #BillyRayCyrus, has captured the hearts of people nationally and internationally, and now it’s snagged the record for the longest-running No.1 song in U.S. chart history after passing 16 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 list. The song has now surpassed “One Sweet Day” (by #MariahCarey and #BoyzIIMen) and “#Despacito” (by #LuisFonsi and #DaddyYankee, featuring #JustinBieber).
According to Pitchfork, the song initially reached No. 1 back in April right after Lil Nas X shared the Billy Ray Cyrus remix of the track. Afterward, several other remixes of the track were released, which featured artists like #Diplo, #YoungThug and #MasonRamsey, and RM of BTS. #CupcakKe also made her own remix of the song.
The music video for the song debuted in May and starred celebs like #ChrisRock, #VinceStaples, and others. The next month, Lil Nas released his 7 EP, accompanied by singles ”Panini” and ”Rodeo” featuring Cardi B.
Congrats, Lil Nas X!
