One in 500 Americans has died from the Coronavirus.
Since the first COVID-19 was detected in the States, one in 500 Americans has passed away after contracting it. This data, collected by John Hopkins University, was released Tuesday night. The information shows 663,913 people in the U.S. have died of the virus; before the outbreak, there were 331.4 million people in the country, CNN Health reports.
Over the past week, the U.S. has seen an average of more than 152,300 COVID-19 cases a day as of Tuesday. Matters have gotten worse with the spread of the Delta variant. Right now, only 54 percent of the population is fully vaccinated.
While health officials have long urged people to protect themselves against the spread of the virus by social distancing and wearing a mask, people around the country continue to fight against mask mandates and other COVID-19 safety guidelines.
Baller Alert previously reported that countries are beginning to put the U.S. on no access “orange” lists, blocking unvaccinated Americans from traveling into certain countries for non-essential reasons. Sweden, in particular, has banned travel from the U.S. into the country completely.
