After 21 years in the NBA, shooting guard Vince Carter announced on Wednesday that his next season will be his last.
“I got one more run in me,” Carter said on ESPN’s The Jump. “One more run.”
At 42-years old, the eight-time NBA All-Star and Former Rookie of the Year spent this past season on the Atlanta Hawks. Carter averaged 7.4 points and 17.5 minutes per game last year.
According to Sports Illustrated, “Carter’s 22nd and final season will break the top-all time mark held by Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, who retired after his 21st season in April.”
