A 76-year-old Fallbrook, California man was arrested Friday after being accused of killing one person and shooting two others, including his own daughter, at a plant nursery.
According to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to the Atkins Nursery for an assault with a firearm just before 3 p.m. Upon arrival, the officers located two victims suffering from gunshot injuries outside a barn. One victim was the female daughter of the suspected shooter, and the other was a male aged 65 to 70. They were transported to a hospital and are expected to survive.

Another victim, a male between 55 and 60 years old, had gunshot wounds to his upper torso and died at the scene.
Enrique Barajas Gutierrez, the suspected shooter, was located inside a barn with the deceased individual. He was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of murder.
The shooting remains under investigation, and no motive has been made public. Investigators believe the weapon used in the incident was a “rifle, but the type and caliber are unknown.”
Police have not released the names of any of the victims.
