The Onlyfans model who fatally stabbed her boyfriend in a Miami beach condo is now being sued by his family.
Courtney Clenney stabbed Christian Obusmeli on April 3rd, 2022, following an argument of some sort. The family of Christian Obumseli is suing Courtney Clenney for negligence. They have also named One Paraiso, the condo building where they lived, and the security team for failing to keep the young man safe. The security and other building staff had reported multiple domestic incidents of Clenney abusing Obusmeli. The fights had gotten so bad that the condo was moving to evict them.
Clenney has since claimed self-defense, stating that Obusmeli abused her, which is why she stabbed him in the shoulder. However, elevator surveillance that surfaced shortly after his death paints Clenney as the aggressor. She is seen violently slapping and hitting him as he tries to stop her. A voicemail also emerged of a vulgar rant that Clenney had left Obusmeli. After his death, investigators found messages from the 27-year-old, telling someone that Clenney had stabbed him in the leg and said she became violent when she drank. He also sustained a concussion and cuts to the face at the hands of Clenney in the months leading to his death. After the killing, police took her into custody but quickly released her. It wasn’t until August 2022 that she was re-arrested for murder in Hawaii. She has remained behind bars ever since.
Her attorney, Frank Prieto, has slammed the suit. He believes the family is simply looking to cash in on the building management’s company insurance policy. Prieto claims Clenney has no assets that Obusmeli’s family can collect on.
“Courtney will defend this civil matter as vigorously as the pending criminal case,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Clenney remains in jail on second-degree murder charges. She has pleaded not guilty.
