Oprah Winfrey and Apple are teaming up with Academy Award-nominated duo Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering (The Invisible War) for their next documentary, set to be released in 2020.
The untitled documentary will center around a former music executive who is stuck with the decision whether or not she wants to share with the world her story of assault and abuse by a popular force in the music industry. The film will also cover other topics, including race, gender, class and intersectionality and the effect that assaults leave on their victims.
The documentary will be produced and co-directed by Dick and Ziering (The Hunting Ground) along with Winfrey & Terry Wood (Harpo Productions). Others signed on to executive produce the film include Dan Cogan (Impact Partners), Regina K. Scully (Artemis Rising), Ian Darling (Shark Island), and Abigail Disney (Level Forward). Producers Jamie Rogers and Amy Herdy are also on board as the creative team for the film.
