#OprahWinfrey is so wealthy we’ve created terms like #OprahMoney and #OprahRich. Now her affluence has landed her as the first Black female entrepreneur to be listed on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The Bloomberg Billionaires Index names the world’s 500 richest people, and Auntie O is the 494th person on that list. With Winfrey being added to the list there are now 65 women and six of them are entrepreneurs.
The media maven has been making money moves since she first stepped foot on air. The success of her 25-year-long daytime talk show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” kick-started her mainstream wealth and fame. In this year alone, Winfrey’s bank account has increased by $427 million after she sealed a deal with Weight Watchers. Back in 2015, Winfrey bought a stake in the company and began promoting the brand, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Winfrey’s hustle doesn’t stop there, she also founded her own network The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) and is now partnering with Apple to produce original content and programming for the company.
