The time has come for Forbes to lay out the richest ladies in America, and some of our biggest favs are out here collecting a big bag.
Forbes compiled a list of the 15 wealthiest women in his country, each of which has been bitten by the entrepreneurial bug. Whether they’ve excelled in television, music, or a bit of both, the women who’ve accumulated the most wealth have worked tirelessly to earn every dollar.
Media mogul Oprah Winfrey tops the list as America’s highest-earning woman, with an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion. Between her long-running talk show, which eventually morphed into the OWN Network, and a film career, it’s no surprise that Winfrey continues to excel and grow her massive empire. Rihanna came in second place, sporting an impressive $1.4 billion net worth. While she is a highly awarded artist with multiple Grammys to her name, Riri’s FENTY empire has taken her wealth to new heights. This includes cosmetics, skincare, and the popular Savage x FENTY lingerie line. Reality TV superstar Kim Kardashian sits in the third spot, running closely to Rihanna with a $1.2 billion net worth. Much of this can be attributed to her Skims shapewear line as well as endorsements with luxury designers such as Balenciaga. In 2019, it was also speculated that she receives anywhere from $300,000 to $500,000 for an Instagram post. Her equally as famous sister Kylie Jenner took the fifth spot with $680 million, right beneath Taylor Swift in fourth place, who landed at $740 million.
Further down the list in number seven, Queen Bey herself sits at $540 million. Beyonce has her illustrious music career to thank for much of her fortune. Forbes has speculated that her stunning Renaissance tour could bring in between $275 million and $2.4 billion by the time it wraps in September. Her Ivy Park clothing company has also fueled her net worth despite undergoing several changes in recent years.
Tennis star Serena Williams and film producer Shonda Rhimes occupy the 14th and 15th slots with net worths of $290 million and $250 million, respectively.
Congratulations to all of the women on the list, particularly those of color who continue to set an example for a new generation of female bosses.
