Police have arrested an Oregon man who allegedly pulled down his mask to kiss a stranger’s baby on the lips inside a grocery store.
According to the New York Post, Austin Blake Stewart, 24, is accused of kissing a 1-year-old girl while her mother was looking away at a WINCO store in Springfield, local news station KEZI reported.
The suspect left the store as the child’s mother searched for him and alerted store employees about the incident.
Investigators said the child’s father was able to flag down a police officer to report the man, saying he had just “kissed his daughter on the lips.”
Steward was found hiding under a blanket on a nearby street and charged with physical harassment and disorderly conduct.
“While the mother glanced away for a brief moment, the suspect leaned down, removed his mask and kissed their daughter on the lips and then departed,” police said in the report.
