Oregon Man Arrested After Trying To Kidnap 11-Year-Old Girl At Park

An Oregon man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl from a park.

The incident occurred at Riverside Park in Grants Pass, just before 8 pm. According to Fox News, Martin Brandon Lynch, 31, first followed the girl and her mother through the park, before trying to snatch the 11-year-old off a swing.

The girl and her mother told police they were in fear for their safety.

Upon arrival, officials detained Lynch and later arrested him. He was then held on charges of attempted kidnapping, menacing, harassment, and disorderly conduct, but police said he was not linked to other reports of stalking in the area.

Police are urging parents to keep an eye on their children as well as their surroundings.
