CPSC officials announced Monday that 4moms had recalled more than 2 million infant swings and rockers after a death was linked to one of its products.
As per the recall notice, the MamaRoo and RockaRoo swings and rockers can fall apart when not in use; their restraint straps can dangle below the seat, posing a strangulation or entanglement hazard to crawling infants.
According to 4moms, two complaints of infants becoming entangled after crawling under an empty MamaRoo infant swing seat and getting stuck in the strap.
It has been reported that one 10-month-old has died from asphyxiation, and another 10-month-old has suffered neck bruising. No incidents relating to RockaRoo products have been reported.
The recall includes two million MamaRoo swings, 220,000 RockaRoo rockers, and 60,000 and 10,000 MamaRoo and RockaRoo goods sold in Canada.

“Consumers with infants who can crawl should immediately stop using the recalled swings and rockers and place them in an area where crawling infants cannot access them,” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall notice said.

Thorley Industries, the company that owns the brand, is contacting every known customer about the recall. Concerned customers can reach 4moms toll-free at 877-870-7390, through email at [email protected], or online at either the company’s main website or the 4moms recall website.
