More than 25 percent of unvaccinated people said they wouldn’t follow CDC guidelines and won’t follow the rules for wearing masks outside.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been very clear about the need to wear a mask to curve the spread of the potentially life-threatening Coronavirus disease. But, clearly, some people don’t care and have said they plan on ignoring safety guidelines.
On May 13, 2021, the CDC announced that fully vaccinated people could go back to participating in normal public activities without their masks. But, it stated that those who are partially vaccinated and unvaccinated must continue to wear a mask, even if the establishment they are in does not require masks.
Regardless of the guidelines, several people have said they don’t plan on going along with the “honor system” approach. According to Mic, 34 percent of Americans who took a survey conducted by Kaiser Family Foundation, 15 percent said they are unsure about getting vaccinated. Six percent said they would get vaccinated if required, and 13 percent said they wouldn’t be getting the vaccine.
The people who choose not to get the vaccine could put others at risk, as the disease could mutate amongst unvaccinated individuals.
