Quaker Oats is recalling 10,000 boxes of its Pearl Milling Company Original Pancake & Waffle Mix due to undeclared milk, which could cause potentially dangerous allergic reactions for those with dairy sensitivities.
The Chicago-based company, a division of PepsiCo, announced the recall for 2-pound boxes of the mix, which were distributed to stores in 11 states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah, and Wisconsin.
Consumers who purchased the affected mix as early as November 2024 should check for UPC code 30000 65040 and a best-by date of Sept. 13, 2025.
While no allergic reactions have been reported, Quaker Oats urges consumers with milk allergies or sensitivities to discard the product immediately to avoid the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions.
This pancake mix, previously sold under the Aunt Jemima brand, has been a breakfast staple for years. However, anyone with dairy allergies should take extra precautions and check their pantry for the recalled boxes.
