A parent in Las Vegas is upset after a P.E. teacher at Garside Junior High School was assigned to stay home while being investigated for what the parent called an inappropriate and painful punishment.
According to 8 News Now, the parent who asked to remain anonymous presented photos of their child’s injuries after the P.E. teacher forced the student to do bear crawls on the hot pavement outside the school.
The concerned father claims his son ended up with second-degree burns on his hands.
The 11-year-old boy was treated at University Medical Center and was then referred to a burn and wound clinic for the injuries to his hands.
A Clark County School District spokesperson would only confirm that the teacher, Robert Berger, was currently assigned to home while the incident is being investigated.
The parent is now contemplating whether or not to pursue criminal charges against the teacher.
