After nearly 20 years later, the inspiration behind ‘White Chicks’ has officially been revealed although many of us have already speculated.
Marlon Wayans, who co-produced, co-wrote, and co-starred in the 2004 comedy alongside his brother Shawn, shared that Paris Hilton and her sister, Nicky Hilton, were their muses for the White Chicks characters they played.
“The original ‘white chick’ and I,” Wayans wrote in a caption along with a photo of him and Paris at an event in Los Angeles he shared on Wednesday. “Funny story, one day my brother [Shawn] calls me at 3 am saying, ‘Marlon, we should play white chicks.’ I replied, ‘[man], you high?’ “The next day, he showed me a magazine with Paris Hilton and her sister on the cover and said we should play girls like this. I immediately got it.”
Marlon went on to say, “We did that film in good spirit to celebrate a special time in all of our lives. So thank you, Paris and [Nicky], for being muses.”
He ended the post by announcing a long-awaited sequel, “White Chicks 2,” and quoted one of the original film’s famous lines, “Let’s go shopping.”
The famous Hilton hotel heiresses were both pleased by Wayans’ backstory, and presumably open to starring in a sequel.
“Great seeing you last night. That movie was hilarious AF,” Paris Hilton, 40, commented. “Love you too bro and yes let us know.”
Nicky, 37, included, “Happy we could be a source of inspiration! White Chicks 2?”
