Part of Lamar Street in Dallas Will Be Renamed After Botham Jean

A portion of Lamar Street in Dallas has been officially renamed after Botham Jean.

In September 2018, Jean, an alum from Harding University, was shot while in his home by a former Dallas police officer.

On Wednesday, the Dallas City Council approved the change unanimously.

The part of Lamar street that Jean is named after is directly in front of the South Side Flat apartments where he had lost his life. It also runs directly in front of the Dallas Police Headquarters.
