Those who watched part-one of the Real Housewives of Potomac know that it got messy real quick, from nose jobs, to who dressed the best to who is more intelligent with their number of degrees. But things hit the fan when Monique Samuels brought out the binder for Gizelle Bryant and her alleged relationship with ex-husband Pastor Jamal Bryant.
During the reunion, Samuels called out the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church for cheating because Gizelle’s storyline this season was mostly about them reconciling their relationship.
The binder, also known as the “receipt book,” had evidence that Pastor Bryant was cheating on Gizelle. Monique alleged that she had text messages that she received from someone in Pastor Bryant’s congregation, she then read the phone number aloud, and Gizelle confirmed that it was Jamal’s number (embarrassing).
To add insult to injury, Monique dubbed the man of ministry “Pastor Holy Wh**e.”
Even though Gizelle dismissed the claims, the megachurch pastor is clapping back at Samuels and her husband.
Pastor Jamal Bryant shared a cryptic message on Instagram that read: “Give no energy to anything that doesn’t add to your joy, align with your purpose or pay any of your bills!” he captioned the post. “Be at peace!”
Twenty minutes later, he made a Livestream addressing the rumors ranging from his relationship with his three daughters to Monique Samuels.
In the video, he starts by mocking Monique and her binder of receipts by pulling out his own and saying, “I want to make sure I’m on the right page of my binder because you can’t bring me receipts if I got the cash register.”
He then confirmed that he dated someone after his divorce from Gizelle, “I’ve been divorced for 11 years, and single people date. When you date, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.”
He said, “In this case, it didn’t. Nothing immoral, illegal, or unethical took place. It did not work out. There is some clarity that needs to happen. I’m not married, I’m not engaged, so some of you have a strange relationship with language. You can’t have a mistress while you’re single. I’ve never had any mistress. She has never been to visit me in Atlanta, she has never been to New Birth, never been to my home, I’ve never been in her home.”
But that wasn’t all, he said, “If we’re gonna show text messages, let’s show all the text messages. Let’s show the text messages of [asking] to fly to Atlanta for my installation. Show the text message where I said, ‘Nah, that’s not a good idea.’ If you’re gonna show the text messages show all of them, where you asked to come down for Memorial Day. I said, ‘No. You can’t come here.’ If you’re gonna show the text messages, show the text messages where you complained because I didn’t open a door for you to speak on the Word network. If you’re gonna show text messages, show all of them. How it is you wanted me to hire you to be on staff. I told you you weren’t qualified.”
After throwing some shade Monique’s way, he then moved on to her husband, Chris Samuels. During this season, there were rumors that Monique cheated on her husband.
Pastor Bryant said, “You live in a house with a man who has anger issues, who doesn’t mind expressing volatile behavior. Everything that I’m saying tonight is not conjecture. This is not murder, this is self-defense.” He added, “On Sunday, for the first time in five years, I’m inviting my audience to watch the reunion of the ‘Housewives of Potomac,’ you’ll see Monique’s husband try to attack my ex-wife. Security had to be called, he had to secure. I’m very concerned.”
While he never truly put all of the allegations to rest during the Livestream, we all can still agree that Monique’s read was one that NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks would approve of.
