Pastor Jamal Bryant is trending on social media Friday after taking aim at the late Kevin Samuels during a recent sermon.
Though he does not mention Samuels by name, it’s clear who he’s referring to.
“How can a man say you are of low value after 35? How can a man say that you do not have the level of attraction of a high-powered man when that man has got to get a GoFundMe for his funeral?” Bryant said from the pulpit.
Before his untimely passing, Samuels, a self-proclaimed image consultant, was slammed online after labeling women who are over 35 and unmarried as “leftovers.” The controversial relationship guru was constantly criticized for his views which people on social media felt were an attack on Black women.
After Bryant’s sermon went viral, critics quickly called him out, reminding him he’s no angel either. Social media users pointed out his infidelity in his marriage to ex-wife Gizelle Bryant who stars in The Real Housewives of Potomac. Jamal and Gizelle got married in 2002 and split in 2009 due to Jamal’s several extramarital affairs. The pair rekindled their romance in 2019, but have since gone their separate ways.

Kevin was just saying what other STRAIGHT men felt.65% of black women do not hold themselves to the same standards that they want men to be at. So, you want a man with six figures with no drama but, you got 4 kids from 4 different no good dudes. And you are expecting a man to take your baggage and issues while bringing nothing to the table other than what’s between your legs? How is that fair? That’s just one example.
