Guess Duron isn’t in the mood for any “hamberders.” But in all seriousness, it hasn’t even been a full 24 hours, and Harmon has already made it very clear that he has no plans to visit D.C.
Everyone knows that it’s a tradition to go to the White House after winning a major championship game. For some, seeing the President in the flesh is an envious honor, but for the Patriots safety, he’d rather pass.
The three-time Super Bowl player exclusively told Kalyn Kahler of “Sports Illustrated” that he’s keeping the same energy he had last year. She wrote in “Morning Huddle”:
“On Thursday, I asked several Patriots players if they would visit the White House if the Patriots won the Super Bowl. All said they hadn’t thought about it yet except for safety Duron Harmon, who did not attend the Patriots’ visit to the Trump White House after Super Bowl LI. He told me, ‘I probably won’t go. I’m not going. I did not go last time. We all know why. I just feel like, for what he believes and what he says, it doesn’t sit well with me, so there’s no point in going there. It would be fake to shake his hand.’”
He even went further to confirm with TMZ Sunday night, “They don’t want me in the White House.”
Duron should get a Heisman trophy for how hard he curved that invitation.
