PBS Classic Children’s Show “Arthur” to End After 25 Seasons

The classic children’s show “Arthur” is slated to end next year after its 25th season.

The PBS show about the life of a lovable aardvark in a yellow sweater is the longest-running kids’ cartoon in US television history.

Kathy Waugh, the writer and editor who originally developed the show from Marc Brown’s children’s books, broke the news on the July 13th episode of the podcast “Finding D.W.”

“’Arthur’ is no longer in production,” Waugh told host Jason Szwimer. She also revealed that the team had actually “wrapped” production on the show’s final episode “two years ago.”
