Luigi Mangione, 26, a person of interest in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has been charged in Pennsylvania with crimes uncovered during his arrest. While Mangione has not yet been charged with Thompson’s murder, authorities say the charges stem from evidence tied to his alleged involvement in the case.

Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after a witness recognized him from NYPD-released images. Police discovered he was carrying a ghost gun with a suppressor, believed to match the weapon used in Thompson’s killing, along with multiple fake IDs, including one that matched an ID used to check into a New York City hostel before the murder.

The charges against Mangione include carrying a firearm without a license, forgery, tampering with records or identification, possessing instruments of a crime, and providing false identification to police. Authorities also found a handwritten document expressing hostility toward corporate America, shedding light on Mangione’s possible motives.

Mangione remains in Pennsylvania custody as investigators continue building their case. Thompson, 50, was shot at point-blank range outside the Hilton Midtown hotel on December 4 in what authorities have described as a premeditated and targeted attack. Police in Pennsylvania and New York are coordinating efforts as the case progresses.
