Pete Davidson is restoring his skin with a massive tattoo removal undertaking.
The comedian and actor has reportedly shelled out $200,000 to erase the ink that once covered his body. “He just woke up one day and wanted them gone, and it’s been a years-long process,” a source shared with People.
For the “SNL” alum, it’s not just about aesthetics. Davidson’s clean slate reflects a deeper transformation. A second insider shares that he “has been sober since September and gained twenty pounds,” adding, “Things are going really well for him. Things are heading in the right direction, and he’s receiving excellent reviews for the movie.”
While promoting “Dog Man” on “Today,” Davidson didn’t sugarcoat the painful process.
“It’s pretty terrible, so if anybody out there is watching and thinking about getting a tattoo, make sure you really want to get it,” he warned, showing off his faded ink. “It’s pretty gone.”

His journey began in 2020, but getting sober made him see himself in a new light.
“I got sober and I saw myself in the mirror and I was like, ‘Nah. Who that?’ I was like, ‘I got to change it up a little bit.’”
Davidson has been open about his struggles with PTSD and borderline personality disorder, even checking into a wellness facility in 2024. Now, he’s halfway ink-free, with plans to keep only “two or three” pieces of body art.
From tributes to past girlfriends to a Hillary Clinton portrait, Davidson once embraced his ink, but his love for acting helped cement his decision.
“For some reason, people in movies, they don’t have them that much,” he told “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
