After a 49-23 season, ranking second in the Western Conference, followed by a disappointing playoff run, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers stepped down from his position as head coach, in what chairman Steve Baller called a “mutual decision.”
But now, just three days later, Rivers has landed a new job with the Philadelphia 76ers.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the move comes after the Sixers fired Brett Brown after a first-round sweep by the Celtics.
Now, coming off his own horrendous playoff series, after blowing a 3-1 lead to the Denver Nuggets, Rivers will now have to redeem himself in the Eastern Conference.
Can Rivers bring Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Tobias Harris back to the playoffs next year?
