A fake Instagram account popped up that allegedly belonged to Tristan Thompson’s baby mama Maralee Nichols. The account posted a picture of a newborn baby, supposedly revealing the newborn’s name.
The account, which was widely reported by TMZ, Page Six, and other outlets, claimed the baby boy was named Angelou Kash Thompson.
“I want to thank everyone for your well wishes. Me and baby are doing great. Right now my heart and mind is on focusing on the baby right now,” text on the photo read. “I am heartbroken that Angelou’s father doesn’t want to be in his life. I am hoping this lawsuit will bring us together and we can be a family.”

But everything about the account turned out to be fake, especially the post, according to TMZ. The photo of the baby was swiped from a Los Angeles-based newborn photographer.
Nichols is suing the basketball star for child support and medical expenses related to her pregnancy. She claims the baby was conceived in Houston during the weekend of Thompson’s 30th birthday in March. At the time, the Sacramento Kings star was still dating Khloe Kardashian, with whom he shares daughter True.
Page Six reported that Thompson was unhappy about the pregnancy and wanted the fitness to get an abortion. He allegedly offered her $75,000 to keep quiet and told her that he would be unemployed after this season so she wouldn’t get much child support. In the text messages submitted with the lawsuit, he made it clear to her that he would not be present in the child’s life.
“You are aware that I’m retiring after this season,” he allegedly wrote. “So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly or someone who’s unemployed. It’s texas (sic) so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemployed.”
Thompson denied sending the messages to Nichols. He does admit to having sex with Nichols several times in his hotel room in Houston.
This will be Thompson’s third child. In addition to his daughter with Kardashian, he is father to son Prince with ex Jordan Craig.
