Lizzo is firing back at backup dancers who have accused her and her team of sexual misconduct.
The “Truth Hurts” singer’s lawyer, Marty Singer, spoke exclusively with TMZ, revealing that Lizzo is not taking these allegations lightly. He pointed to photographs showing the alleged victims with the adult performers in Paris. If you recall, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez claimed the Grammy Award winner made them go to the sex shows in both Paris and Amsterdam, where Lizzo egged them on to eat a banana from a nude performer’s vagina.
Singer suggested that the women were “gleefully reveling” backstage with the naked cabaret dancers when they took the picture, contradicting their claims that they were pressured into being in sexual situations. A month after that outing, Davis praised her boss during an audition tape, never implying that her experience dancing alongside Lizzo was a dreadful one, which she claims in her lawsuit.
In addition to sexual harassment, Davis, Williams, and Rodriguez are also accusing Lizzo of making comments about their weight. The ex-dancers claim a member of her team also spoke at length about religion, which made them uncomfortable. All three accusers are seeking unspecified damages. Their lawyer, Neama Rahmani, said the Paris photo simply shows three women desperate to keep their jobs despite the toxic work environment.
“They had bills to pay just like everyone else, but they finally had enough of the abuse. We stand by every claim in the lawsuit and look forward to trial,” Rahmani told TMZ.
Lizzo will be countersuing for false allegations, though it appears she has not yet filed her court docs. She has maintained her innocence throughout the ordeal.
