Singer Pink and Carey Hart are stepping away from their marriage once again after 20 years together.
A source confirms the singer and the former professional motocross racer have separated. The couple, who married in January 2006, share two children: daughter Willow Sage, 14, and son Jameson Moon, 9.
A representative for Pink declined to comment on the reported split. Hart has not issued a public statement.
Their relationship began in 2001 when they met at the Summer X Games in Philadelphia. After dating on and off, they got engaged in 2005 and later wed in Costa Rica. By 2008, they announced their first separation. Even then, they stayed on good terms. Hart appeared in Pink’s “So What” music video, a song that reflected that chapter of their relationship. In 2009, they reconciled and decided to call off their divorce.
“We’re rebuilding,” Hart said at the time. “Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps backwards to move forward.”
Throughout the years, Pink has been open about the effort behind their marriage. In a previous interview, she said, “Long-term relationships are not easy. It is much easier to stay in the solid days and jump from relationship to relationship, because then you don’t have to fix the problems that keep recurring. You have to end up fixing yourself; you can’t fix the other person. So it can be challenging, and there’s good days, and there’s bad days.”
She also shared, “I think it’s an impossible expectation for you to think that you’re going to evolve at exactly the same pace as another person in exactly the same direction. So it takes work to redefine what’s important. I don’t want to break up my family. That’s been my main goal since I had a broken family. Sometimes you have to let it go. You can’t die on every mountain.”
In 2023, she reflected on their dynamic, saying, “He and I are independent to a fault. That’s probably why we’ve stayed together so long, because we can live completely separately and then be together. We don’t need each other. We choose each other.”
Neither Pink nor Hart has publicly addressed the current separation.
