Atlanta restaurateur Pinky Cole is facing legal action for more than $87,000 in alleged unpaid rent tied to two restaurant properties on Edgewood Avenue.
According to a lawsuit filed in Fulton County state court, Asana Partners LLC, the landlord of the properties, claims Cole’s company, Slutty Vegan Inc., failed to pay rent on both the Slutty Vegan and The Morning After restaurant spaces. The suit accuses her business of skipping nearly $40,000 in rent, with fees and interest raising the total to over $87,000, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
“As of now, the unpaid balance stands at $87,312.65,” Asana’s attorneys wrote. “And it continues to grow at a monthly rate of $13,665.34.”
Cole’s business, once one of the fastest-growing vegan brands in the country, has scaled back significantly in recent months. Slutty Vegan now operates just five locations after peaking at 14 across four states. Her other venture, Bar Vegan, has also seen multiple closures.
Earlier this year, Cole told People magazine that financial challenges forced her to temporarily relinquish ownership of Slutty Vegan, though she bought it back just weeks later.
Plans to expand into Atlanta’s airport were recently shelved, and now she’s fighting to hold onto her remaining spaces, while also reportedly filming scenes for “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
