Pixar’s First Gay Main Character Featured In Emotionally Charged Disney+ Short Film

According to Entertainment Weekly, Pixar released an animated short film this past Friday. The short film titled ‘Out’ is the first release from Disney+’s SparkShorts series.

‘Out’ is about a man named Greg moving in with his boyfriend, Manuel. Greg has yet to come out to his parents, who arrived at their home to help out. A pair of fairy god-pets, a cat, and a dog come to Greg’s rescue. Greg magically turns into his pet dog and tries his hardest to hide his new relationship from his parents. This is when he quickly learns that he actually has nothing to hide.

‘Out’ was written and directed by Steven Clay Hunter and was produced by Max Sachar. This is Pixar’s first project to feature an openly gay main character.
