Pizza Hut is set to offer a pepperoni pizza that has Beyond Meat meatless pepperoni.
On Tuesday, Pizza Hut and Beyond Meat will be launching their meatless pepperoni pizza in five different cities around the nation.
The new move comes as the next phase in Beyond Meat’s partnership with Yum Brands, the mother company of well-known food franchises including Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell. According to CNBC, the meatless pizzas will only be here for a little while as a limited-time offer.
The cities that will get to try the pepperoni substitute out first will be Houston; Albany, New York; Macon, Georgia; Columbus, Ohio; and Jacksonville, Florida. The meatless pepperoni will be available at 70 locations in those selected cities.
As the want and need for meatless options grow, Beyond Meat is racking up the checks, reporting $24 million in sales to U.S. food service outlets. This year alone, shares for Beyond Meat have risen 3 percent, now sitting at a market value worth 8.12 billion. Meanwhile, Yum Brand’s stock has skyrocketed by 22 percent, placing its market value at $39.8 billion.
