Playboi Carti Arrested For Allegedly Choking Pregnant Girlfriend Over Paternity Test

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by TMZ, Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Carter, was arrested in Georgia after allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend during an argument about a paternity test.  The woman reported to the police that the rapper held her by the throat and pushed her, causing her breathing to become difficult, and she thought she might die.

The woman informed the officers that she had been in a relationship with Playboi Carti for two years, had been living with him since July 2022, and was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the supposed incident on December 20.  She wanted to talk to the rapper about the baby, and the conversation about a paternity test resulted in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation, according to her account to the police.  She reported to the police that a witness tried to intervene to break up the fight, and when she managed to escape Playboi Carti’s grip, she fled to her car, where he allegedly assaulted her again.

The woman told the police that Playboi Carti attempted to pull her out of the car and placed his hand over her mouth when she attempted to use the vehicle’s SOS feature to call the police.  When the authorities arrived, the woman had visible injuries on her neck, chest, and back, according to the police.

Playboi Carti, was taken into custody for felony aggravated assault.  His attorney, Brian Steel, claimed that his client had been falsely accused and that the case would be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation, according to communications with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.
