How often are men praised for having a harem of women at their whim? Obviously there is a double standard when it comes to women in this case. Men are allowed and often encouraged to have a “side chick” but as soon as a woman gets a “side man” she’s a hoe. Let’s take QueenPrincessLove and Floyd Mayweather’s situation as an example.
To recap: Floyd Mayweather is known for having many women on his team. He showers them with gifts and I’m almost positive they all know about each other. After Floyd took to the radio to say he will be marrying his “main” girlfriend Shantel, his “side” chick QueenPrincess found love in a hopeless place, Ray J. She received a lot of flack for doing so but let’s discuss this further.
Keep in mind QueenPrincess was merely a side chick who didn’t really owe anyone any loyalty anyway. Why is it wrong that she gets her a man on the side to comfort her when she is lonely? Why isn’t she allowed to be a player too? Granted, Ray J isn’t quite the upgrade from Floyd, but who would she exposed to that IS?
I think that we have to kill the double standard that women can’t be players too. The double standard itself stems from men and their egos. God forbid that a man is not in full control of every woman around him. If he loses that control, he loses his alpha status. Now another man has made a move onto his woman and he is powerless. Again, ego kicks in and he is hurt. A man with a bruised ego will never see anything rationally. Now she is a hoe for doing to him what he has happily done to her. A man surely doesn’t want to think about another man having sex with the same woman he has sex with, regardless of whether she is his “girlfriend” or not.
Will this thought process ever change? Probably not. Just know, women can’t play the game like men. We’ll never be allowed to.
