The social media personality, who has over 136,000 TikTok followers and another 164,000 supporters on Instagram, uploaded a disturbing video of a Lyft driver refusing her service due to her size.
The clip, captioned “This Lyft driver denied me service because of my size,” quickly went viral and has racked up over 240,000 views, the driver can be heard stating, “I got no space. My car is small.” Dank tells him several times that she can fit in his back seat, though the driver tells Dank, “Believe me, you can’t.”
The rideshare worker, who identified himself as Abraham, instructed Dank to order a bigger vehicle and refused to allow her inside. He claimed that he had previously been in a situation with a large passenger who could not fit on his seat, citing this as his reason for denying service.
He then tells the performer that he has “Very tired tires,” another reason why he could not transport her. The video quickly spread online, forcing Dank to issue a response. She confirmed that she never reported the driver to Lyft, but only wanted to post the video to raise awareness about her experience.
“I am a big person f**kin’ advocate and I’m not the only person that they did that s**t to,” she explained before questioning why Lyft did not have better options suitable for bigger people. “That s**t is humiliating…It’s below zero, I’m outside and you pulling off on me.”
It does appear that Dank was refunded, but the situation surely left a lasting impact, with Dank telling her TikTok followers in a separate post that she would be taking a mental break.
Elsewhere on Instagram, Dank shared a graphic showing the weight that certain smaller automobiles could hold, further proving that she, despite weighing 489 pounds, could indeed fit inside the driver’s car.
