Just days after limited-edition Pokémon Oreos hit shelves, they hit the resale market for much higher than their $3.88 retail prices.
The limited-edition cookies feature 16 Pokémon-themed cookies that were available to customers via pre-order online. Customers were limited to just three boxes. Making it more difficult to “catch ‘em all,” each of the different cookie designs comes with varying degrees of rarity.
And as soon they dropped on September 8, they hit resale sites like eBay for as much as $1,000 to “Buy It Now.” Some of the listings are for a single cookie. But unless you get lucky and catch a package in a store, the only option is to buy resale.
Both packs and single cookies are listed anywhere from a few dollars, with the most ridiculous listings reaching $25,000. Unsurprisingly, they had zero bids. Most are selling between $10 and $15, which is still quite the markup.
