Police have detained two of the five inmates who escaped a Georgia prison.
Tyree Williams, Dennis Penix, Brandon Pooler, Tyree Jackson and Lewis Wendell Evans III escaped from the Pulaski County, Georgia jail around 11 p.m. Friday night. By Saturday, officials issued a GBI “Blue Alert.” WSB-TV 2 reports two of the men have been captured.
The men had reportedly taken off in a white Kia Sedona van they stole from the jail parking lot. There are no details on where the men were on their way to. The news outlet reports that they may be armed with at least two stun guns. All of the men are murder suspects who have a background of being violent, reports say.
WSB-TV 2 reports Williams was arrested on felony murder and home invasion charges. Pooler is accused of child cruelty, Jackson was charged for allegedly being a part of a slew of car robberies, Penix was jailed for allegedly killing two men, and Evans is accused of obstructing an officer.
An award of $5,000 is being offered for anyone with information on the escapees who are still on the run.
