Wendy Williams’ 19-year-old son Kevin Hunter Jr. was arrested in May following a fight with his father, Kevin Hunter, outside of Krauszer’s Food Stores in West Orange, NJ. Now, according to Page Six, reports reveal the altercation began after Kevin Jr. called his father a “bitch” and resulted in Kevin Jr.’s arrest for domestic violence simple assault.
In the heavily redacted police report obtained by Page Six, things escalated after Kevin Jr.’s remark, causing Kevin Sr. to strike his son “with a closed fist to the face,” which he later denied.
The report continued, “Kevin [Jr.] then stated that he called [redacted] a ‘bitch,’ which caused [redacted] to approach him in an aggressive manner and started pointing [redacted] finger very close to his face. [Kevin] Jr. then admitted to pushing [redacted], which caused them to start wrestling with one another.”
The report says after the two were separated by a bystander, Kevin Jr. called his mother, “who was not on the scene.” He reportedly had no signs of injury or complaints of pain and refused medical attention following the fight. The report also seems to indicate that Kevin Sr. did not cooperate with the investigation, refused to provide a written statement, and refused photos of his injuries to be taken.
According to Daily Mail, Wendy Williams is who called 911 to report the altercation as confirmed by transcripts of the call. Wendy says, “Hi, I’m calling to file a complaint and call the police to a strip mall that’s on Mount Pleasant at (garbled) at Krauszer’s…[Redacted] fought him and put him in a headlock in the Krausers where you buy like cigarettes and things like that, do you know that tiny strip mall across from the Exxon?”
In a second 911 call, Wendy says, “Okay. [redacted] is 18 years old and he was taking an Uber and as he started to go away when he called me and I told him to turn around and file a police report… My, [redacted] and I are going through a [redacted] and [redacted] told me something about [redacted] putting him in a headlock and screaming about money and telling him, basically accosting him and attacking him in the store and I want him to file a police report.”
Earlier this year, Wendy Williams filed for divorce from Kevin Hunter following 21 years of marriage after his mistress allegedly gave birth to his child. Wendy said there was “no reasonable prospect of reconciliation between the parties,” and her son Kevin Jr. has been supportive and by her side ever since.
