The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man connected to a fatal shooting at a Michigan haunted house, last seen wearing an orange sweatshirt and jeans.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The incident occurred on late Saturday night, as the victim, Douglas Albert Reese, and his girlfriend were waiting in line to enter the Erebus Haunted House on South Perry Street shortly after 12:30 a.m.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to a witness report obtained by CNN, “The victim and the suspect exchanged words as the suspect thought the victim had cut in line ahead of him.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The victim then reportedly told his girlfriend that he was going to his car, which was located in a parking lot nearby. It remains unclear when the suspect left the line and headed toward the lot. But shortly after, witnesses reported gunshots in the area.
Another witness recalled seeing the suspect’s blue sedan driving off at high speed, while Reese’s body laid struck with bullets in his chest, side and neck. Unfortunately, medics at McLaren Oakland Hospital were unable to revive Reese.
Although Reese’s sister did not wish to give her name, she made the following statement, saying “When somebody is walking away, you don’t follow him and shoot him, you don’t do that, that’s not okay– If you have any information please come forward.”
Those with information about the case are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers.
