New Poll Finds Nearly Half Of Republican Voters Wouldn’t Vote For Donald Trump In The 2024 Presidential Primary

A new poll found that nearly half of Republicans wouldn’t vote for Donald Trump if he ended up as a candidate in the 2024 presidential primary.

According to a New York Times and Siena College poll that was released on Tuesday, about 49 percent of Republican voters that participated in the survey said Trump wouldn’t get their vote. Sixty-four percent of Republican voters under 35 said they also wouldn’t choose Trump as their next president.

When asked about Trump’s actions and behavior during the 2020 election, 75 percent of the Republicans said they felt he was “just exercising his right to contest the election” and 19 percent said he “went so far that he threatened American democracy.”

The poll was conducted by phone from July 5 to July 7, and 849 registered voters participated.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was voted the second-most popular candidate with 25 percent of the votes.
