Polo G is facing some serious trouble with the law after his home was raided Wednesday morning.
The “Pop Out” star was placed in handcuffs after a group of officers in body armor were seen stationed around his Los Angeles home. One of them was seen using a bullhorn to command occupants to exit. In the video shared by TMZ, several people walked out slowly, including at least one woman and Polo’s brother, Taurean. Police responded to the residence as part of a robbery probe involving him, not his famous brother. Celebrity attorney Bradford Cohen told the outlet that the rapper was arrested for supposedly harboring a fugitive.
“They are also denying myself and my California law partner Zoey Aron access to him while he is being illegally detained,” Cohen shared in his statement.
The rapper has seemingly stayed out of legal trouble since his July 2021 Miami arrest for felony battering a police officer, threatening a public servant, and misdemeanor criminal mischief. Those charges were dropped when Polo agreed to a pre-trial diversion program, Rolling Stone confirmed at the time. Shortly after Wednesday’s arrest, his mother and manager, Stacia Mac, shared an update on her Instagram Story, echoing much of what Cohen stated.
“To my knowledge, Polo is not the object/focus of the investigation. I am hopeful the LAPD will handle this tact and transparency,” she wrote.
