“Back in Blood” rapper Pooh Shiesty faces life in prison for his alleged role in a Florida armed robbery that left a victim shot in the buttocks.
The 21-year-old Memphis native is accused of shooting a man during an October 2020 arranged meet-up turned robbery involving a rented McLaren, high-end sneakers, marijuana, and liquid codeine.
Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams, initially requested his trial be delayed until next year. However, lawyers representing Williams and his two co-defendants said the three men believe it’s “in their best interest” to proceed to trial on October 25.
The rapper has pleaded not guilty to a four-count federal indictment carrying a possible maximum sentence of life in prison. He and his co-defendants, 21-year-old Bobby Brown and 20-year-old Jayden Darosa, are accused of robbing and shooting two victims during a confrontation at a Bay Habor Islands, Florida hotel.
On October 9, 2020, Williams, Brown and Darosa drove to the Landon Hotel to buy marijuana and a pair of high-end sneakers from two other men. During the transaction, the defendants allegedly shot the sellers with semi-automatic weapons and then fled.
Pooh Shiesty has been in custody since July. He faces a possible life sentence if convicted of the most serious count in his indictment– discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
