Pooh Shiesty has shared an update from prison, appearing in good spirits as he serves out his five-year prison sentence.
On Tuesday, the 23-year-old shared photos of himself in gray prison attire, now sporting a short beard and locs. In the lengthy caption, Shiesty thanked his fans for “keeping it solid” and promised to reward them for their continued support. In regards to his haters and those who doubted him, the 1017 star warned them not to count him out, as he is determined to come back stronger than ever.
“Still the King no matter what jungle,” he wrote.
The rapper’s thriving career came to a screeching halt when he was sentenced to federal prison in April 2022 for gun charges. As part of his plea deal, Shiesty pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy to possess a firearm in furtherance of violent and drug-trafficking crimes. The case stemmed from an October 2020 incident where Shiesty and two others drove to Landon Hotel in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, to purchase weed and luxury sneakers. Unfortunately, they decided to rob the two sellers instead, shooting both of them in the process. Thankfully, the men survived. Shiesty was credited for the year he’d already spent in jail. Per Rolling Stone, if the Memphis artist stays on his best behavior while behind bars, he could be home in about three and a half years.
