Pop Smoke’s unsolved murder looks as if it will be remaining that way as the investigation has slowed down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As many know, in February, the 20-year-old rapper was fatally shot in Los Angeles. Since then, the LAPD has been looking for leads on the case, but over the last few months, priories have shifted. According to TMZ, the LA police have had to make their response to COVID-19 their first priority.
Detectives are still attempting to go out and talk to people face-to-face to gather evidence, but this strategy has not proven to be too successful in the past. According to reports, police have struggled to find a reliable witness in the past and many are refusing to talk.
Nonetheless, the insignificant amount of time and recourses that are now dedicated to finding Pop Smoke’s killer is troublesome for the case.
