Popular online personality Carol Acosta has died following a terrifying choking incident.
The 27-year-old influencer, known as Killadamente, tragically passed away after choking on her dinner and going into cardiac arrest in front of her family at a New York restaurant on Saturday.
Her younger sister Khatyan confirmed the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post, sharing a smiling photo of them together.
“I love you sister and I will always love you,” Khatyan wrote. “I give thanks to God for giving me a sister like you with your big heart. Rest in peace my sister.” She later thanked followers for their support, adding, “Thank you also for supporting my sister while she was still alive.”
While autopsy results are still pending, family members believe Acosta died from suspected cardiorespiratory arrest caused by the choking incident. Acosta, a body positivity advocate and Fashion Nova ambassador had a massive following of 6.6 million on Instagram, where she shared motivational messages and proudly embraced her body. Her 2017 song “Me Amo y No Me Importa” (“I love myself and I don’t care”) echoed her confidence and resilience. She leaves behind two young daughters, Reina and Legend.
In her final video, posted just a day before her death, Acosta joked about being on God’s “favorites list” for her confidence and body image.
