A well-known Beverly Hills hairstylist has been charged after using a bullhorn to yell at Capitol police officers during the Capitol riot.
Gina Bisignano was charged with several crimes relating to storming the Capitol on January 6th with fellow Trump supporters. She is one of many rioters believed to have assaulted law enforcement.
In video footage obtained by law enforcement, Bisignano is seen yelling into the bullhorn at Capitol police that “This is 1776” and also took aim at George Soros, shouting that the man can “go to hell.”
George Soros is a Hungarian-born American billionaire investor and philanthropist who has donated $1 million to former President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign in the past. In 2020, he donated over $500,000 to President Joe Biden’s campaign.
While Soros’s alliance with Democrats may be Bisignano’s reason for blasting him, her attacking Capitol police was unwarranted. In one clip, the beautician is in a crowd that is seen throwing objects at law enforcement officers. For her role in the violence, she has been hit with a slew of charges, including aiding and abetting the willful injury or depredation of any property of the United States; corruptly obstructing, influencing or impeding any official proceeding, or attempting to do so; knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so; knowingly, and with intent to impede or disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business or official functions, engage in disorderly or disruptive conduct in, or within such proximity to, any restricted building or grounds.
Investigators received at least six tips identifying Bisignano in the footage. The Gina’s Eyelashes and Skincare owner has been known for protesting lockdown measures and using homophobic slurs.
Bisignano blames her behavior at the riot on being “caught up” in the moment.
“I was caught up,” she explained to The Beverly Hills Courier on Thursday. “I was scared, I was excited.”
She also blamed the violence on “Antifa and BLM,” though the FBI has stated no proof of Antifa being involved in the violence.
