A popular Memphis DJ was found beheaded in the Berclair neighborhood, Fox 13 Memphis News reported.
Rick Buchanan, also goes by the DJ name “Slick Rick,” was found decapitated on Angel Avenue Wednesday afternoon, according to his brother John Buchanan.
“I walked in and found him, and I just called 911,” the brother told the outlet.
“I thought his coat was up over his head like it was cold or something,” John Buchanan added. “I ran out and then I ran back in. And, then I realized it was something worse.”
The DJ has worked in the area for decades, but after he was shot outside a club in 2014, his brother said that things changed for him, adding that it became hard for his brother to find work.
The Memphis Police Department is investigating the incident.
“We just are securing the property,” John Buchanan said. “Making funeral arrangements. Taking care of my mom. Yeah.”
