When it comes to making boss moves, Aisha “Pinky” Cole’s name comes to mind. The founder and CEO of Slutty Vegan continues to make headlines with her popular vegan restaurant, which has become a national phenomenon. The Atlanta native is now taking on a new business venture with Steve Madden.
The luxury shoe brand announced its collaboration with Atlanta’s red-hot vegan restaurant chain for a limited edition PETA-certified vegan sneaker and bag collection featuring the restaurant’s signature colors, style, and attitude.
It’s the first time a fashion shoe brand and vegan restaurant have collaborated in the industry. Madden and Pinky met through the Fearless Fund in February 2021. Since then, the Slutty Vegan brand has continued to skyrocket in popularity and expanded to Brooklyn, Birmingham, and more.
“When you encounter the kind of bold sensibility, and the exploding popularity of Slutty Vegan, collaborating with them was obvious. Pinky and I share the dare-to-spirit,” Madden said on the partnership.
When discussing the partnership, Pinky voiced how thrilled she is to be working with Madden. In fact, the Slutty Vegan owner said the collaboration was a “no brainer.”
Cole also mentioned how this collaboration is bigger than just a shoe — it is about showing people that you “don’t have to live inside a box,” she said. “You can be disruptive and break every glass s=ceiling, even if it means being a burger joint with a vegan show.”
“I am thrilled that Slutty Vegan can partner with such an amazing company like Steve Madden,” said Pinky. “When the opportunity presented itself, it was a no-brainer.”
Cole also mentioned that this partnership is about living outside the box, not conforming to societal norms. “You can be disruptive and break every glass ceiling, even if it means being a burger joint with a vegan shoe.”
The Steve Madden x Slutty Vegan products reimagine two of Madden’s hottest styles: the POSESSION, and BSETTITUP. Both styles were put through a Slutty Vegan makeover created with PETA-approved vegan materials. Each style features the brand’s signature colors of white, red, and yellow, as well as their classic slogan print. The BSETTITUP cross-body bag features separate cases for a phone, sanitizer, lipstick, and the Slutty Vegan food truck emblem.
Steve Madden and Slutty Vegan will donate $1 to PETE via ShoppingGives for each item purchased through their websites, www.stevemadden.com or www.sluttyvegan.shop. The POSESSION sneakers retail for $99.99, and the BSETTITUP bag is $89.00.
