In the the age of the #MeTooMovement, many alleged victims of sexual abuse have come forward to shed light to a dark topic and many times gain justice in the process.
Now, the adult entertainment industry is the latest to join the fight.
Four porn stars have filed a formal complaint against one of the industry’s top agents, Derek Hay.

The complaint, filed in the state of California, cites allegations of fraud, sexual abuse, and financial mismanagement. The legal filing also alleges that Hay is involved in an illegal escorting service.

The four persons involved are all listed as Jane Does, which according to Jezebel, is due to them being fearful of damaging their careers in porn.

According to the petition, Hay promises “fame and fortune” to clients who sign contracts with him, but in reality he’s actually only tying porn stars into bogus multi-year contracts. Included in these contracts are clauses that allow late notice cancellations thus forcing performers to either “pay in cash, or ‘work-off’ by performing sexual acts on him.”

The petition also details allegations of Hay coercing his clients into “escorting services” that actually connect to “prostitution and sex trafficking.”

The performers also allege that as a means of punishment, Hay purposely ignores their “no lists,” which is an industry custom that clearly stated each performers sexual limits.

The complaint is linked to a civil case in which the petitioners are seeking reimbursement for fees paid to the agency as well as the revoking of Hay’s license.
