Amid her engagement controversy, Porsha Williams has landed her own Bravo special.
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fan favorite has gotten a three-part special that will focus on her work with the Black Lives Matter movement. Williams was arrested twice during last year’s Breonna Taylor protests in Louisville, Kentucky.
News of the special coincided with the announcement of Williams’s engagement to her co-star’s estranged husband, Simon Guobadia. However, the network says that the series has been in the works for months.
“It was greenlit months ago, so it has nothing to do with this engagement news. The special is supposed to focus on Porsha, her activism, and her family,” a source close to the show told Page Six.
With pregnancy rumors also swirling about Williams and Guobadia, the insider says that the current circumstances “could change things” and “become part of the special.”
The mini-series is expected to begin filming in mid-summer and will serve as Williams’ second spin-off. In 2019, “Porsha’s Having a Baby” highlighted the reality star’s pregnancy journey with then-fiancée Dennis McKinley. The two share a 2-year-old daughter, Pilar. The 39-year-old also hosts “Bravo’s Chat Room.”
None of her “RHOA” co-stars will appear in the new series, but her mother Diane Williams and sister Lauren Williams will likely make an appearance.
